Want to Sell Timber
In Ohio?

If you own land and want to sell standing timber in Ohio and surrounding areas, you can expect an honest partnership with MAVIN as your timber buyer. MAVIN crews are all Master Loggers (certified by the Ohio Forestry Association, or OFA), and we run a full-scale timber-to-lumber operation. We handle surveying, price evaluation, logging, land management and millwork, turning your tree harvest into usable products such as industrial pallets or furniture.

Contact Mavin Timber

MAVIN buys timber throughout the state of Ohio. We commonly work with landowners who want to sell timber in Ashland, Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Champaign, Clark, Columbiana, Coshocton, Crawford, Delaware, Erie, Fairfield, Franklin, Guernsey, Hardin, Harrison, Hocking, Holmes, Huron, Jefferson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Logan, Loraine, Madison, Mahoning, Marion, Medina, Monroe, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Portage, Richland, Ross, Sandusky, Scioto, Seneca, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas, Union, Vinton, Washington, Wayne and Wyandot counties. (If your county is not listed, we will still buy your timber if it meets our guidelines.)

The Selective Harvesting Process

MAVIN Timber is not a clear-cutting timber buying operation. Our process involves “selective cutting,” where the loggers only cut mature trees of a certain diameter range, leaving less mature trees to grow and flourish. This type of forest management is a sustainable logging practice that allows you to continually maintain timber harvesting. With a clear-cut operation, the trees are razed, and the land is left barren. Our select cutting gives you a timber harvest for years to come.

Tree
Mature selected trees based on diameter requirement.
Treetrunk
Tree tops and limbs nourish the soil for the remaining trees growing in the forest.
Logs
Harvested trees head to our sawmill yard to begin the separation process.
Stumps
With our Selective Harvesting process, the remaining trees acquire more nutrients and sunlight, which provides happier and healthier growth patterns.

How We Use Your Timber

Once we’ve harvested your timber, we move to timber processing. Because we have our own sawmill, we have a vertically integrated wood manufacturing business. This allows us to control the process, use as much of the tree as possible, with zero waste as our goal.

Treebark
The bark is stripped off and supplied to landscape manufacturers.
Pieces
Wood chips and sawdust are sold to paper mills.
CantPallet
The CANT of the tree used to create our shipping pallets.
Drying
Drywood
Furniture
The outer section is cut into boards. After drying, either by air or kiln, or a combination of both, the slabs are ready for manufacturing of fine furniture.
